A new test centre for anyone looking to work in the construction industry has been opened by Torfaen Council.
The centre at Pontypool Community Education Centre will provide Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards, which are widely recognised as the standard for proving occupational competence within the construction industry.
The test costs £35, with funding options available for eligible individuals through the CELT Plus project.
The centre is run by the council’s Adult Community Learning service and the booking line is open every Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 9:15pm and Friday’s from 8:30am to 4pm.
During the school holidays, bookings will be open between 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday.
By successfully completing the CSCS card test, tradespeople can ensure they possess the necessary knowledge and skills required to carry out their work effectively and safely within construction sites.
This validation is an essential requirement for anyone seeking employment in the construction industry.
